The Minister presented him with this honor on September 23rd, 2019, during a ceremony held at the Parliament Building in Quebec City, in the presence of Justice Nicole Duval Hesler, Chief Justice of Quebec and president of the selection jury, as well as many guests, parents and friends of the laureate.

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Quebec, Mrs. Sonia LeBel, awarded the Prix de la justice du Québec 2018 to Me Jean-Pierre Ménard for his commitment to defending the rights of users of the health care system and the protection of vulnerable people, as well as for his actions which fostered knowledge, promotion and respect for citizens' rights in health matters.
