On December 16, 2022, a judgment approving the settlement agreement in the class action against Cliniques Zéro Gravité S.E.N.C. and 12 of their chiropractors was rendered by Justice Suzanne Courchesne j.c.s.
Consequently, the claim period came to a close on March 29, 2023. All claims were analyzed individually by our team.
All notices of refusal related to invalid or inadmissible claims were sent by registered mail during the month of April 2023. The affected potential members then had a final period of fifteen (15) days following receipt of this notice of refusal to request a review of their claim. This review process being completed, all members who requested a review received a final notice, by mail.
All notices of admissible claims and cheques will gradually be sent out by mail starting on June 14, 2023 and should all be received by the end of summer 2023. Considering the proportional distribution provided for under the terms of the judgment, an amount of $1,580,17 will be awarded for each of the 608 accepted claims.
As provided for under the Settlement Agreement, the amount to be distributed was invested during the claims process. The interest thus procured, namely $12.42 per member, is also included in the amount paid to each member. Tax slips will be sent to members at the end of the year for this investment income.
The Closing Report is expected to be filed in Superior Court this fall, within sixty (60) days of the end of the distribution process
